NYC law firm opens Long Island office, adds partner

A New York City law firm has opened a Long Island office.

Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas now has an office in Port Washington, and named  Dina De Giorgio as partner, serving in its family law department.

A former North Hempstead councilwoman, De Giorgio brings more than 27 years of divorce, family law and mediation experience to the firm. She previously managed and practiced in her boutique firm, with a focus on hearings and trials, as well as  mediations and litigation.

De Giorgio received a bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Fordham University in 1989 with a major in psychology, and her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 1992. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, the Matrimonial Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association, and a member of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation and the National Association of Divorce Professionals, where she is a co-director for the Special Needs Chapter.

“We are pleased to welcome Dina as a partner with the firm,” Jeffrey Schwartz, co-founder and managing partner of SSRGA, said in a statement. “Her breadth of experience will be an invaluable asset to clients as we continue to expand SSRGA’s geographic scope and capabilities.”

“Dina’s proven ability to negotiate complex family matters will support our commitment to provide superior legal representation for our clients,” Steven Sladkus, co-founder and partner at SSRGA, said in a statement.  “Her knowledge and skillset powerfully complement the industry-leading attorneys in our matrimonial, family and reproductive law department.”

The firm also recently expanded to South Florida.
