‘The calendar pages keep flipping and people keep dying;’ NYC drug treatment
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Camelot of Staten Island has hit yet another delay in what’s becoming a more than six years-long challenge to begin the construction process of a 35-bed treatment facility in Port Richmond.
In addition, the borough’s first treatment center for women suffering from addiction was supposed to open on grounds of the former Seaview Hospital In 2020. But like the Port Richmond facility, construction has yet to begin.
