Former street rivals team up through their organizations to combat violence in

Two former street rivals have teamed up to share their experiences in an effort to help break generational curses and keep the youth out of prison and the grave.

Maurice Williams and Kareem Nelson both did time in prison but want to help make sure that others don’t head down the same path. They both decided to trade in territory for trust, violence for new visions and dope for dreams.

Williams’ organization, “A Father’s Love,” and Nelson’s organization, “Wheelchairs Against Guns,” helped the two combine efforts in combating violence.

A gunshot wound left Nelson confined to a wheelchair, but his mission is full speed.

“I can always do me, but if someone looks like me and they don’t have what I have, it’s not fair not to share,” says Nelson.

The two opened a location in Queens, hoping to shake the curse and lead others down another path.
