The very end of this year brings signs of relief, as Jupiter — planet of growth and luck — enters mystical and compassionate Pisces on Tuesday night. Jupiter in Pisces, which lasts until April, invites you to believe in magic, to rekindle your faith in others, and to trust that in spite of everything you’ve seen and experienced, a better world is possible. This is an opportunity to heal from the feelings of alienation that have troubled you lately, to find connection and meaning in your life once more.

Recently, you’ve witnessed enough dishonest and irresponsible behavior — not just by people in your life, but by those in positions of power too — to make you wonder whether it’s time to give up on humanity entirely. But while it’s heartbreakingly easy to figure out who you don’t trust, this week you have the much more difficult task of figuring out who you do. But if you think and argue and wonder in communion with others, instead of in isolation, you’ll find what you need.

You can’t live in the past forever, but you also can’t force yourself to move on before you’re able. Give yourself time to mourn what’s been lost: people, experiences, old versions of your life and self. Sometimes, it’s necessary to look back before you can move forward. Eventually, when you’re ready, your life will become sparkling and wonderful again in ways you can hardly imagine today.

Some people hold their opinions loosely and change their minds easily. But you’re firm in your convictions, and because of this, it takes tremendous courage to reassess your ideas about the world, the…
