So, Donald, how’s the campaign going so far?

What happens when your best strategy, maybe your only strategy, is a dismal failure?  Witness what has happened to Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy for the Presidency.

It’s clear that Trump figured that his standing as a candidate would create confusion in the Republican ranks while concurrently causing a pause in the Department of Justice’s pursuit of an indictment. Uh, yes and no.  Republicans are confused but the DOJ is on target.

Because of the possible perception of a conflict of interest between Trump and Biden, Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith to oversee the Trump investigations.  Although many feared that the appointment might create delays, it is apparent that Smith has jump started both investigations: Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election and Trump’s theft of classified documents.  Subpoenas are flying out of the DOJ faster than rats running from a burning meth lab.  So if Trump hoped to slow things down, he was dead wrong.

Stewart Rhodes, leader of the Oathkeepers, was convicted of insurrection for his actions before and during the January 6th riot.  This is quite significant because it negates the GOP’s absurd characterization of January 6th as a legitimate political protest.  It further defines that what Trump created and participated in was insurrection.  In doing so, it tees up the case against Trump, while encouraging Rhodes’ future cooperation to avoid spending the rest of his rotten life in prison.

The Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit, rejected arguments brought by Trump’s lawyers to undermine and delay the DOJ’s investigation into Trump’s theft of classified documents.  The latest blow was the elimination of the special master, clearing the way for the now charged-up Smith investigation to proceed with haste, as additional classified documents dribble out of Trump’s hidey holes.

New York Attorney General, Letitia James, convinced the court that the Trump Organization’s operations must be overseen by a court appointed master.  James claimed that Trump might attempt to remove assets from the business to protect them from being used to satisfy the $250 million claims that the state made for the Trumps’ commission of tax and bank fraud. This does not include assets buried near the first hole at Bedminster.

Seventeen guilty verdicts for criminal tax evasion, falsifying business records, fraud and conspiracy were handed down against the Trump Organization by a New York state jury. Although Trump himself was not a named defendant, the result left little doubt that juries are willing to convict Trump once presented with substantial evidence against him.

Trump supported candidates in the mid-terms were largely defeated, including Georgia’s recent rejection of Herschel Walker, thus ending the werewolf/vampire controversy.  Included in the string of losers were the slate of Trump loving, GOP election deniers in Arizona, proving there was no red wave in Kari Lake.

Michael Flynn is the latest witness to testify before the…
