PowerColor teases Radeon RX 7900 HellHound series

Another Radeon RX 7900 from PowerColor

PowerColor Japan teases the upcoming Radeon RX 7900 Hellhound series.

Following the confirmation of Radeon 7900 Devil series, the company is now teasing its first high-end Hellhound graphics cards. While PowerColor is not naming the product SKU directly, the design featured below is definitely not used by any existing Hellhound graphics card.

In fact, PowerColor did not release any Hellhound GPU from x800 or x900 series before. Thus far, the most powerful Hellhound model was based on Navi 22 aka Radeon RX 6700 XT.

This card undoubtedly looks different from the RDNA2 model, with an entirely new backplate design and new capacitor layout behind the GPU, uncommon for any Radeon RX 6000 models.

Interestingly, it still features dual 8-pin power connectors which was the case 6700 XT SKU. Furthermore, what one can (barely) see are three fans illuminated by bright blue light, an iconic feature of all Hellhound GPUs, although some come with white cooler shroud and pink fans (aka Hellhound Spectral).

The card is also equipped with a LED switch, so it is relatively easy to turn off the LEDs for those who prefer stealthy designs. One should also notice a dual-BIOS switch closer to the I/O bracket, but this is a typical feature for almost all high-end PowerColor GPUs.

For comparison, here’s RX 6700 XT Hellhound:

The AMD Radeon 7900 series are set to launch on December 13th. The company announced two models: 7900 XTX and 7900 XT, both launching on the same day. What remains to be confirmed is whether the card teased by PowerColor is the full Navi 31 or a cut-down version.
