Trump expected to announce White House run on Nov. 14

It’s nearly Trump time again.

Former President Donald Trump reportedly plans to announce on Nov. 14 that he is running for president again in 2024.

The twice impeached one-term former president is planning to launch his comeback bid a week from Monday just days after the midterm congressional elections, Axios reported Friday.

“Get ready that’s all I’m telling you — very soon,” Trump told a Thursday night rally in Sioux City, Iowa. Get ready.”

Former U.S. President Donald Trump speaks during a campaign event at Sioux Gateway Airport on Nov. 3, 2022 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Three unnamed Trump aides told Axios that Trump is planning to announce his campaign at an undisclosed location and will follow it up with several days of events around the country.

Campaign aides and Trump acolytes have blocked off their calendars and are making plans to be on the road that week, the news site says.

Trump has been teasing a fresh 2024 run for months and reportedly wanted to announce after Labor Day.

Being first out of the blocks could deter other potential candidates for the GOP nod, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, from entering the contest or lead them to back out altogether.

He was apparently talked out of announcing a run before the midterms by fellow Republicans who feared such a move could energize Democratic voters who might otherwise stay home.

Trump also believes that being an active presidential candidate could strengthen his hand with prosecutors in his myriad and mushrooming legal woes.

Prosecutors in general, and federal prosecutors in particular, seek to avoid taking overt public steps that could impact the results of upcoming major elections. That unwritten rule may have led them to put off decisions on indicting Trump till after the midterms, suggesting that they too may act soon after the nation goes to the polls on Tuesday.
