The choice Is clear for Greeley — vote Barb Kirkmeyer for Congress – Greeley

Greeley is the epicenter for one of the most pivotal Congressional races in the United States.

Colorado’s Congressional District 8, which runs right through Greeley, Thornton, Commerce City, and other hard-working cities and towns in Colorado, needs to be represented by an authentic person who’s lived a life of hard work and who knows how to create opportunity for everyone. Someone who’s spent years working in the district and listening to the people who live there.

The issues in CD8 are clear cut. Inflation and job cuts are affecting many families. The loss of energy jobs and Colorado’s tilt away from oil and natural gas, thanks to the Democrats in charge, have led to worse living standards for CD8 families.

Crime matters in CD8, too, at a time when Colorado has reached No. 1 in the nation for auto theft, No. 1 for bank robberies, No. 1 for cocaine use, No. 2 for increase in fentanyl overdose deaths and No. 3 for the worst crime rate in the nation.

Families that are struggling to put gas in their cars and food on the tables — in the face of inflation and high costs — can’t afford to have their cars stolen, too. Families shouldn’t have to worry that their kids might be offered fentanyl at school by drug dealers selling happy, bright, rainbow-colored poison that’s flowing across our open borders.

And yet, that’s exactly what’s happening.

Voters should know that Rep. Yadiro Caraveo and Sen. Barbara Kirkmeyer were on the opposite side of several state laws that have deeply affected CD8 and Greeley.

After voters rejected Prop 112 — the oil and gas setback proposal — Caraveo turned around and passed a bill in the legislature that required setbacks anyway. Her bill crushed energy jobs in CD8. Kirkmeyer voted no, in line with what voters had said in rejecting Prop 112.

In 2019, Caraveo voted in favor of decriminalizing fentanyl, meth, heroin and cocaine — all of which are now devastating Colorado communities, with a record number of deaths from fentanyl among children and teens this year.

Kirkmeyer sided with law enforcement, heeded their warnings, and voted no.

Time and again, in her brief stint in Colorado’s legislature, Yadira Caraveo has voted against the interests of CD8 and against the interests of Greeley citizens. She’s voted in favor of far-left legislation at the detriment of parents and kids.

Her votes have contributed to inflation and a higher cost of living as she said yes to increasing the gas tax and property tax — all while Kirkmeyer voted to let families keep more of their hard-earned money.

As a dairy farmer and small business owner, Barbara Kirkmeyer knows firsthand how to create jobs and embrace the hard work ethic of CD8. She’s no stranger to getting it done when times are tough.

As a county commissioner, she balanced the budget — something few elected officials can claim.

With national debt on the rise and national spending out of control, Colorado needs a Congresswoman who can say that enough’s enough. CD8 needs a representative who will stand up for American energy independence — a key job creator for the district.

Kirkmeyer is Colorado tough — which is exactly what the people…
