Warriors guard Jordan Poole finalizing 4-year, $140 million extension: Sources


Warriors guard Jordan Poole is nearing a four-year extension with Golden State that could be worth up to $140 million, sources confirmed to The Athletic on Saturday. ESPN first reported news of the deal.

Poole’s new deal will be for $123 million guaranteed, per sources. Incentives, both likely and unlikely, could spike it an extra $17 million over the life of the contract. The deal was agreed upon Saturday, but has not been officially signed or announced.

This locks Poole up for the next five seasons. He will make $3.9 million this upcoming season, the final of his rookie deal, before the extension kicks in for the 2023-24 season.

The 23-year-old joined the Warriors as the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft. Poole excelled during the middle of his second season and carried that into a third, leading the NBA in 3s in the final two months of last season. He then averaged 17 points per game on 50/39/91 shooting splits during the playoffs.
