Lisa Scheller’s questionable business practices make her a bad fit for Congress

Lisa Scheller’s questionable business practices have made the news. There was a news article last week that revealed how Scheller, the Republican candidate for the Lehigh Valley’s congressional seat, has a holding company based in Mauritius. “Silberline Mauritius Limited,” as it is known, is a holding company for some of international business done by Silberline, the candidate’s company.. And even more notably, this company apparently shares an address with some of those that appeared in the notorious Panama Papers leaks. As the Panama Papers revealed, Mauritius is widely known as being an international tax haven that some of the richest, most elite across the world use to hide their money and evade taxes. She refuses to answer any questions about her Mauritius business operations.

This is yet another instance of the wealthy citizens of this country not paying in like the rest of us, but you can bet her company uses our infrastructure and other resources paid for by taxes on the middle class. Scheller is out-of-touch with the average hard-working person in our community. She is a walking conflict of interest who would go to Congress and work to enrich herself and others like her at the expense of the rest of us.
