Traveller stumped by odd feature in hotel room

People often pay extra for cool features in their hotel rooms, but not all of them make sense. One traveller was stumped by the odd feature in their hotel room which made going to the toilet very awkward.

“My hotel made the walls of the bathroom fully transparent…” the traveller posted on Reddit, along with pictures of the room. From the bed, the bathroom was completely visible, with the shower right next to the bed.

Other commenters were equally as confused by the feature. 

“Other than the ‘cool’ factor I have no idea why anybody would ever want it on the clear setting. To watch TV while in the bathroom?” one asked.

“I spent 2 days showering like that this summer in a hotel room until I realised there was a switch. Thankfully I was with my boyfriend,” said another.

“Who [else] is holding their poop for the entire trip,” asked another commenter.

Others let the traveller know that there may still be hope in maintaining some privacy.

“Is there any switch to turn the transparency off? I am deadly serious, it looks like covered with PRONOFF SMART film,” informed one commenter. “Usually it’s the bathroom lock that triggers the glass change,” said another.

The traveller later confirmed that they had [thankfully] figured it out.
