Winchester City Council welcomes new cabinet member Kathleen Becker


At a meeting on Thursday, September 22, leader of the council, Cllr Martin Tod, welcomed Cllr Kathleen Becker to the Cabinet. 

Cllr Becker joins as member for Inclusion and Engagement.

Speaking of the appointment, Cllr Tod said: “This is a vitally important role – designed to ensure that the council engages more closely with the public – and that all voices are heard as we shape the council’s work. I’m therefore very pleased to welcome Councillor Kathleen Becker to our Cabinet.

Cllr Becker said: “I’m delighted to be invited to sit on Cabinet. I’m looking forward to championing our efforts to ensure that the voices of everyone in our district are heard and listened to by the council.

“I will also be working with our teams to make sure we communicate with our communities clearly and effectively, while acknowledging and celebrating the wonderful diversity in our district.”

As a qualified solicitor Cllr Becker will also have responsibility for governance and the constitution.
