Thai cabinet approves energy support, wage hikes

BANGKOK : Thailand’s cabinet on Tuesday agreed to extend a diesel tax cut for two months and extend an electricity subsidy until December to mitigate the impact of high energy prices, a government source and local media said.

The government also approved minimum wage increases from Oct. 1, they said. The government source declined to be identified because they were not authorised to speak to media.
