SUNDAY AND MONDAY. HURRICANE DANIEL, 5:00 ADVISORY STILL HAS THE STORM STATIONARY. SHOULD CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY. I CATEGORY ONE HURRICANE BEFORE IT STARTS MAKING A MOVE OUT TO THE EAST AND IT WILL SLOWLY WEAKEN AS WE HEAD TOWARD WEDNESDAY. IT IS OUT IN THE ATLANTIC NOT AFFECTING ANYBODY. WE DO HAVE THIS AREA NOW. 70% CHANCE OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS OF DEVELOPING. WE COULD HAVE A TROPICAL DEPRESSION LATER TONIGHT. ORGANIZATION HAS CONTINUED TO IMPROVE. HURRICANE HUNTERS ARE OUT THERE. THEY SEE AN ORGANIZED CENTER OF ROTATION. WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE IF THAT BECOMES A TROPICAL STORM LATER ON.

Hurricane Danielle formed just before noon on Friday, becoming the first Atlantic hurricane of the season.The storm was located about 885 miles west of the Azores.Danielle had maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and was moving west at 1 mph. “The hurricane is forecast to meander over the open Atlantic during the next couple of days, then slowly turn toward the northeast early next week,” the NHC said. “Some additional strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days. Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 15 miles from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 115 miles.”Danielle is not expected to become a threat to Florida.Other tropical disturbances A tropical wave in the central tropical Atlantic could develop as it moves west-northwestward. Forecasters say the system could form into a tropical depression if there’s additional development. Chances of it forming into a depression are high. The National Hurricane Center gives the system a 50% chance of development in the next two days and a 70% chance in the next five days. The third tropical disturbance being tracked is forecast to move off of the west coast of Africa and head across the eastern tropical Atlantic. Chances of further development have decreased. It’s been given a 0% chance of development in the next five days and a 0% chance in the next two days.
