Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has complained of “lawlessness in Congress” after getting rankled by the removal of a sign on the wall outside her office in Washington, D.C.

Greene shared a series of videos on Twitter complaining about a sign featuring an affidavit in support of an arrest warrant for Tim Hysom, the chief of staff for Democratic Representative Jake Auchincloss of Massachusetts, being removed by an unknown party outside on Wednesday.

The Georgia Republican has accused Hysom of committing a “hate crime” against her due to a surveillance video appearing to show him putting stickers on a different sign outside her office last month. The Department of Justice (DOJ) has declined to prosecute Hysom.

Greene said that she “talked to the police officers” after discovering that the newer sign, which features pictures of Hysom taken from the surveillance video, was no longer on the wall. She said that a staff member had discovered the newer sign inside a nearby men’s bathroom.

“I don’t go in the men’s bathroom, I go in the women’s bathroom,” Greene said in the video. “But one of the members of my staff found the sign that’s supposed to be right here, that was ripped off the wall, folded up in the men’s bathroom.”

“Someone has ripped it off the wall and folded it up and stuck it in the men’s bathroom,” she added with a displeased facial expression. “So, this is great. Lawlessness in Congress, everyone! The Department of Justice is completely terrible, they don’t prosecute crime.”

Greene shared another video showing her putting up a duplicate replacement sign a short time later, which was captioned, “The crimes of Tim Hysom are back on display.”

“We’ve got a new sign back up after the other one was stolen,” said Greene. “These people never get prosecuted. The Department of Justice doesn’t prosecute crimes, they’re more interested in political persecution, because that’s all they’re doing.”

“We have a new sign up because we don’t put up with criminals,” Greene continued. “And we want them held accountable.”

The sign that Hysom allegedly defaced featured the message: “There are TWO genders MALE & FEMALE. ‘Trust the science!'”

Greene put the sign up less than two months after joining Congress, in response to Democratic Representative Marie Newman of Illinois, who has a transgender daughter and had placed a transgender pride flag outside her nearby office.

Greene claimed that the sign had been attacked because those who disagreed with her could not “take the fact that there’s only two genders.” She said that placing stickers on the sign was a “hate crime” against her religion and gender.

“They attack this because they hate my faith, hate my religion, it’s a hate crime,” she said. “And they hate the fact that I’m a woman.”

Greene also complained that Hysom allegedly “let in the Stephen Colbert film crew that came down here to try to attack my office.”
