Stocks Open Lower As Investors Worry About Slowing Economic Growth


U.S. stocks fell in early trading as worries about slowing economic growth overshadowed optimism about the possibility of the U.S. rolling back tariffs on some Chinese products. 

The S&P 500 fell 1.9% Tuesday to start the trading week after the U.S. stock and bond markets were closed for the Independence Day holiday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 1.9%, or about 600 points, and the tech-focused Nasdaq Composite Index declined 1.6%.
