Bucks vs. Celtics score: Boston dethrones defending champions with Game 7 rout,

The defending champions have been dethroned. The Boston Celtics dominate the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 7, 109-81, and advance to the Eastern Conference finals where they’ll meet the top-seeded Miami Heat. Grant Williams finishes with a game-high 27 points, including seven 3s, as the Celtics take care of business at home and rattle off the series’ first back-to-back wins for either team.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (25 points, 20 rebounds, nine assists) was dominant early on, but cooled off considerably as his Bucks struggled to keep up with Boston, especially in the 3-point game. The Celtics shot 22 for 55 from deep, while the Bucks finished just 4 for 33 (12.1 percent) from 3. Jayson Tatum provided 23 points for Boston, including 5-of-9 from 3.

In what ended up being the turning point in Game 7, Marcus Smart drew a three-shot foul on Antetokounmpo with a halftime-buzzer heave. From there, the Celtics outscored the Bucks 61-38 the rest of the way despite Tatum sitting most of the third quarter with four fouls. Boston took a 79-64 lead into the fourth quarter, but unlike Game 5 where they blew a double-digit lead, it made sure to hold on for the victory.
