After a hard-fought duel, Chelsea and Christian Pulisic won the FIFA Club World Cup and now, only the Premier League remains elusive for the USMNT international.

More news about Chelsea:

Chelsea beats Palmeiras to win the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time in its history

The USMNT international is the first American to win the ultimate intercontinental club tournament and with that, his trophy cabinet will now have one more title to boast about.

Pulisic and Chelsea won the FIFA Club World Cup over Palmeiras

Chelsea won the FIFA trophy today, thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku (55th minute) and Kai Havertz (penalty in the 117th minute), and are now considered the best club on the planet, having beaten Brazilian giants Palmeiras, for whom Rafael Veiga scored (penalty in the 64th minute).

However, a historic moment was written today in the 30th minute of the match, when Christian Pulisic came on for Mason Mount, becoming the first American to play in a FIFA Club World Cup final.

And as we all know, he not only played in it but won it, so now his trophy cabinet has one more title to boast about, but there is only one title that has so far escaped him.

The answers can be several, but one can start with a factor that was not in the hands of the USMNT international: time.

And that is that the last time the Blues won the Premier League was in the 2016-2017 season when Antonio Conte was managing the team.

And Pulisic arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2019, so against the time factor the player could do nothing.

Another reason why the tournament has eluded him so much is that upon his arrival Liverpool was having a great season under Jürgen Klopp.

The German coach had a dream season and managed to capitalize on it to take his team to the top of the English firmament.

So Liverpool and their excellent campaign under Klopp have been another factor in Pulisic’s failure to win the title. And the third reason is similar, but a more powerful one.

That third reason has names and surnames: Manchester City and Pep Guardiola

Since he arrived in the Premier League the manager has made his team one of the most dominant in the competition and this season it…
