Sunshine set to brighten up NYC, but storm system may come close Wednesday


Tuesday in New York City will be seeing sunny skies following the snowstorm – but rainy weather might return Wednesday.


Temperatures on Tuesday will be in the low-30s.


Wednesday will be mostly cloudy during the daytime. News 12 meteorologists say that a storm system could come close to the city, causing rain or even snow.



Highs will be in the mid-40s.

Thursday may see a lingering shower in the early morning before sunshine moves in.

Friday will be partially sunny with highs in the mid-20s.

FORECAST:

TUESDAY: Sunshine returns with a few clouds. Breezy, western winds
20-25 mph. Feel like temps 10-20 degrees! Its winter y’all. Highs near 36. Lows
near 28.

WEDNESDAY:  WEATHER TO WATCH Mostly cloudy skies
during the daytime hours and likely to become an evening to stay indoors. Storm
system could make a close approach, as showers may linger into the late
morning. Cold air aloft adds to the possibility of snow showers yet the
same could be said of rain showers due to the warmer temps. Our weather team
will continue monitoring this to nail down the exact details, timing, and
impacts! Stay tuned… Highs near 45. Lows around 33.  

THURSDAY: Lingering showery (either snow or rain)
activity in the early morning likely. Then daytime becomes sunnier! Highs near
37. Lows chill to 18. 

FRIDAY: Partial sunny. Highs near 25. Lows near
19.

SATURDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH Another system approaches
by the coast. Possibility of snow. This system will need ongoing monitoring, as
timeframe is not short-term in view, numerous variables at this time. Highs
near 29. Lows near 23.
