Notre Dame vs. Oklahoma State score: Live coverage, college football scores,

Notre Dame has started its 2022 on a great note, torching Oklahoma State’s defense through two quarters of the Fiesta Bowl as it holds a 28-14 lead at halftime. Fighting Irish quarterback Jack Coan has completed 24 of 33 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns as offensive coordinator Tommy Rees has elected to pick apart one of the best defenses in the country with a one-dimensional attack. It’s resulted with the best performance any quarterback has had against Oklahoma State this year, and we still have two quarters of football left.

The absence of star running back Kyren Williams and Oklahoma State’s ability to get pressure on the quarterback has led Notre Dame to utilize the quick passing game, screens and perimeter plays that serve as an extension of the run game. Coan being at the center of the distribution has allowed him to roll up impressive numbers, but the blocking and execution has been strong from the entire offense.

Oklahoma State has largely struggled to move the ball and go blow-for-blow in this battle, leaning on a couple of explosive plays at the end of the first and second quarters that set up touchdowns to remain in contention. The oddsmakers expected the game to be low-scoring, but we’re off and running with a lot of offense and explosive plays coming from both sides. Even if the defenses do settle in over the rest of the game, the start has given just enough action to know we could see a great finish.
