Kate swipes spotlight from Meghan with powerful new message | Royal | News

On Saturday afternoon, the Duchess of Cambridge shared a series of images to mark World Children’s Day, a global celebration promoting a sense of togetherness among children and raising awareness around children’s welfare. On the Twitter account for Kate, and her husband Prince William, both 39, a powerful message was shared for the occasion reading “Investing in a child is ultimately an investment in our future societal health and happiness”.

The message promoting World Children’s Day and the building of a better future for young people was accompanied by an image of Kate, dating from her visit to the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Garden earlier this year.

It comes just days after Meghan Markle, 40, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, her second sitdown interview with a US chat show host since stepping away from the Royal Family.

The Duchess of Sussex’s interview with her Ellen, an old friend of the actresses, struck a lighter tone to her and Prince Harry’s serious sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in March.

While on the Ellen show, Meghan spoke about her children’s Halloween outfits this year, explained how her youngest child Lilibet had begun to teeth and also participated in a goofy sketch that saw her drinking milk from a baby’s bottle.

Meghan Markle’s interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show aired in the US on CBS at 8pm on November 18. It will be broadcast on ITV2 within a week of its US release.
