Bali Officials To Collect Security Fees From All Seminyak Businesses
Officials from Seminyak Village have planned to start collecting security fees from all the businesses that are located in Seminyak.
The Head of Seminyak Village, I Wayan Windu confirmed that in accordance with the Decree Number 086/DAS/X/2021 that was issued by Seminyak, Kuta Officials on October 11th, 2021, authorities will start collecting security fees from all of the businesses in Seminyak. Windu explained that the cost of the fees will vary, depending on the scale of each business.
“First of all, I want to ensure that these fees are not illegal as they’re still in line with Bali’s regional regulation number 4 the year 2019 about cultural villages in Bali. We’re also responsible for managing the money and providing a financial statement every six months. The fees will start from USD 7 (IDR 100,000) to USD 211 (IDR 3 million) depending on the size of the business.” Windu said on Wednesday (27/10).
Windu is also open to any discussion in regards to the number of fees required for the businesses and has instructed his staff to avoid confrontation during their operations.
“Businesses that are still financially struggling could propose a discount for the fee as we also understand that many of them have just started to reopen their operations recently and still receive very few customers,” Windu added.
Meanwhile, the businesses that have closed from the operation are required to send a statement letter to the village official in regards to their problem. The collected fees will be managed by Seminyak Village through Village Security Office (BAPEDES).
