Mohammad Hassan Akhund was the vice president of the council of ministers back in 2001 before the US invasion of Afghanistan. He is also part of the UNSC designated list of terrorists for sanctions. Before being a vice president of the council of ministers, Hassan Akhund was the governor of Kandahar and a political adviser to the late Mullah Omar. He is part of the Kakar tribe and is around 63 years old. He was born in the Pashmul village, part of the Panjwai district, Kandahar Province.
