David Quinn, Rangers coaches missing Flyers game amid COVID
The entire Rangers coaching staff is in COVID-19 protocol and unavailable for Wednesday’s matchup against the Flyers, the team announced.
Hartford Wolf Pack head coach Kris Knoblauch, associate head coach Gord Murphy, and associate general manager Chris Drury will be behind the Rangers’ bench Wednesday, with Rangers head coach David Quinn and assistant coaches Jacques Martin, David Oliver, and Greg Brown all unavailable.
Defenseman Adam Fox and forward Pavel Buchnevich will be back in the lineup after being taken off the COVID-19 protocol list.
Being in COVID-19 protocol list does not necessarily mean a diagnosis for the virus.
The Rangers placed Phil Di Giuseppe on the COVID-19 protocol list Sunday, with Fox and Buchnevich following on Monday, leading to all three to be sidelined in the 5-4 overtime loss to Philadelphia.
Fox and Buchnevich being reinstated so quickly could indicate they both registered false positive tests. Defenseman Tarmo Reunanen and forward Julien Gauthier are expected to be scratched.
