Baguio sends help to Boracay for Covid fight – The Manila Times


BAGUIO City will send assistance to Boracay to improve the island’s contact tracing ecosystem to prevent the spread of the coronavirus as the world-famous tourist spot welcomes visitors during the Christmas holidays. “Our intention is to send a team to Boracay this Friday to train the personnel of Boracay on contact tracing that also includes reorganizing the contract tracing ecosystem in Boracay which will now include personnel of the Philippine National Police,” Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong told the media in a press briefing on Wednesday following a Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force meeting held in Boracay attended by secretaries of involved agencies. Magalong said the police committed to deploy around 20 policemen who will partner with existing number of contact tracers in the Boracay island.
